
DeSoto ISD has released its official 2025–2026 academic
calendar, following approval by the Board of Trustees during a recent
meeting. The calendar was developed with input from a diverse committee of students,
parents, staff, and community members, ensuring it reflects the needs and
priorities of all stakeholders.
Key dates for the upcoming academic year include:
Staff Convocation: Monday,
August 4, 2025
First day of school for
students: Monday, August 11, 2025
Labor Day: Monday,
September 1, 2025
Fair Day: October 13, 2025
Fall Break: October 14–17,
2025
Thanksgiving: November
24-28, 2025
Winter Break: December 22,
2025 through January 2, 2026
Spring Break: March 16–20,
2026
Last day of school for students
(Early Release): Friday, May 22, 2026
In preparation for the new school year, teachers will
participate in professional development and work days ahead of the student
start date.
As the current school year concludes:

Superintendent Dr. Usamah Rodgers. “The result is a student-centered
calendar that balances instructional time with meaningful breaks to support
academic success and wellness.”
