The DeSoto Independent School District in partnership with its food service provider, Whitsons Culinary Group, is proud to announce the launch of its Summer Meals Program, providing free breakfast and lunch to children and teens throughout the summer months. This initiative is part of the district’s ongoing commitment to supporting student health, well-being, and food security.

Starting June 2 through July 31, children up to age 18 and adults with special needs up to age 21 can receive free breakfast and lunch. No registration or identification is required to participate in this program. 

Meals will be served Monday through Thursday, with a brief closure from June 30 through July 5 in observance of the Independence Day holiday.

Meal Sites and Hours

DeSoto High School  (600 Eagle Drive, DeSoto, Texas 75115)

  • Breakfast: 7:30 a.m. – 9:00 a.m.
  • Lunch: 11:00 a.m. – 12:30 p.m.


Cockrell Hill Elementary (425 S. Cockrell Hill Rd., DeSoto, TX 75115)

  • Breakfast: 7:30 a.m. – 9:00 a.m.
  • Lunch: 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
