In celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, the DeSoto Independent School District is organizing a dynamic photo project that will spotlight the district’s scholars while honoring the legacies of prominent Hispanic leaders and cultural icons.
The project will feature 8–10 DeSoto ISD students, photographed as historical figures and trailblazers who have significantly impacted Hispanic history, culture, and society. Through cutting-edge, vibrant, and artistic photography, the initiative aims to produce 2–3 powerful images per student, creating a photo story that captures not only the figures themselves but also the personal connection each scholar feels to their chosen role model.
“Hispanic Heritage Month is a meaningful opportunity for our scholars to learn, reflect, and celebrate the influence of Hispanic culture on our shared history,” said DeSoto ISD Superintendent of Schools Dr. Usamah Rodgers. “By embodying these important figures, students will connect with legacies of resilience, leadership, and creativity while showcasing their own pride and identity.”
