DeSoto ISD
students brought Eagle Pride to a regional stage on Sept. 5 as they were
featured on WFAA’s Morning Pep Rally during the opening of the George W.
Bush Presidential Center’s newest exhibit, Game Changers.
The live
broadcast showcased the energy, discipline, and teamwork of DeSoto’s band,
cheerleaders, dancers, and student-athletes. Families and viewers across North
Texas had the opportunity to see scholars represent DeSoto ISD with excellence,
enthusiasm, and spirit.
“It was a great
opportunity for DeSoto Athletics and Fine Arts to perform and showcase our
skills,” said Wynter Prince, a member of the DeSoto High School girls
flag football team. “We were able to introduce new things happening in DeSoto
and show how we’re moving forward and becoming a better school and district.”
The pep rally
also served as the official kickoff to the Game Changers exhibit,
providing high-visibility media exposure in partnership with WFAA and
the George W. Bush Presidential Center.
Superintendent Dr.
Usamah Rodgers praised the students for their performance and
representation of the district.
“Our scholars
are living examples of what it means to be game changers,” Rodgers said.
“Showcasing their talents on such a visible stage reflects not only their hard
work and dedication, but also the strength of our community in supporting their
success.”
While the
program highlighted student performances, the event also reflected the broader
mission of DeSoto ISD to create meaningful opportunities where scholars can
shine, lead, and inspire others.
This showcase
was not only a celebration of student talent, but also a reminder of the
district’s commitment to shaping the leaders, innovators, and game changers of
tomorrow.
