DeSoto Independent School District has launched a new Bond Project Management Website, providing families, staff, and community stakeholders with a centralized, up-to-date resource on the district’s 2025 Bond Program. The site offers clear and accessible information on project scope, timelines, construction updates, and budget allocations.
Approved by voters in May 2025, the Bond Program funds districtwide improvements focused on enhancing safety, modernizing learning spaces, and strengthening the overall student experience across all campuses.
Key Bond Projects Include:
Proposition A – $152.7M: Renovations and upgrades at multiple campuses, including Frank Moates Elementary, Ruby Young TAG Academy (conversion to a STEAM Center), McCowan Middle School, West Middle School, and high school academic spaces.
Proposition B – $38.6M: Demolition of the existing Field House and its replacement with a new Student Athlete Success Center, along with renovations to the athletic fields and the Multi-Purpose Center.
Proposition C – $8.6M: High School Stadium renovations.
Timeline Highlights:
- Summer 2025: Project design and bond sale schedule finalized
- Early 2026: Formation of the Bond Oversight Committee
- Spring 2026: Construction documents prepared; bid process begins
- Summer 2026: Phase 1 construction begins
The website features project updates and photos, milestone tracking, committee information, procurement opportunities, and community engagement details such as groundbreaking ceremonies and ribbon-cuttings. Access to Bond Oversight Committee materials will be announced by Superintendent Dr. Usamah Rodgers once finalized.
“This website reflects our commitment to transparency and ongoing communication with our community as we implement the 2025 Bond Program,” said Dr. Rodgers. “It serves as a one-stop hub for staying informed on these transformative projects.”
