
DeSoto Independent School District proudly announces its 2026 Campus Teachers of the Year, recognizing outstanding educators who exemplify excellence in instruction, leadership, and commitment to student success across the district.
These educators were selected at their respective campuses based on a comprehensive set of criteria that reflects the district’s commitment to high-quality teaching and learning.
Campus Teachers of the Year demonstrate:
- Exceptional instructional practice and the ability to engage students of all backgrounds and abilities
- A commitment to ensuring learning extends beyond the classroom
- Leadership and innovation within the profession
- Meaningful contributions to campus culture and student achievement
- A clear vision for student success aligned with measurable outcomes
As part of the selection process, honorees completed a rigorous application that included a professional resume, biography, and written responses addressing instructional practices, community engagement, educational issues, leadership, and impact on student learning. Final submissions are reviewed in partnership with campus leadership and the district’s Human Capital Management team.

Cadence of Celebration Employee Awards Gala
All Campus Teachers of the Year will be formally recognized during the district’s annual Cadence of Celebration Employee Awards Gala, scheduled for mid-May where the district will announce an overall Elementary and Secondary Teacher of the Year. The event celebrates excellence across the organization and honors those who make a lasting impact on students, schools, and the broader DeSoto community.
In addition to campus recognition, selected educators will advance as candidates for District Teacher of the Year, representing DeSoto ISD at the regional level at Region 10.
