Behind every successful initiative, program, and opportunity for students, there are strong systems and dedicated people ensuring the work is done with purpose and integrity. Elizabeth Bostic, Grants & Special Revenue Manager in the Finance Department, is one of those key leaders helping DeSoto ISD turn plans into meaningful impact for students.

With 18 years in education and eight years of serving DeSoto ISD, Ms. Bostic brings both classroom experience and systems-level expertise to her role. She holds a Bachelor's degree from Langston University and a Master's degree from Lamar University, and her professional journey includes nearly 14 years as a teacher, interventionist, coach, and administrator before transitioning into grants and special revenue work. That background continues to shape how she approaches every decision. As she notes, “A lot of people know me for grants and special revenue, but that’s not where my work in education started—and that experience still shapes how I approach my work today.”

The PRIDE value that most guides Ms. Bostic’s work is Integrity. For her, integrity goes far beyond compliance. “I believe in doing things the right way,” she explains, “but I also believe integrity includes being honest when something needs to be corrected and taking responsibility for fixing it.” She emphasizes that excellence is not about perfection, but about accountability, learning, and making sure the work stays focused on what students truly need.

Her personal “why” is clear and unwavering. “My why is students,” she shares. Whether her work is visible or happening behind the scenes, Ms. Bostic believes students should actually receive the resources and support intended for them. She is deeply committed to alignment, clarity, and accountability because, as she puts it, “Getting the work right matters because students are the reason it matters.”

In her role, Ms. Bostic helps build the future of DeSoto ISD by strengthening the systems behind grant and special revenue efforts. “I help connect planning, funding, and implementation, so these resources are used with purpose and integrity, not just spent,” she says. This work ensures opportunities are protected for students and that district decisions are supported by strong, intentional systems.

She is particularly proud of the impact she makes by creating clearer paths for both students and adults. “Much of my role is behind the scenes,” she reflects, “but I’m proud of helping create more alignment, accountability, and understanding so the work is stronger and more purposeful.” She also believes that when adults are supported and empowered, students benefit even more.

When challenges arise, Ms. Bostic stays grounded through perspective and purpose. Prayer, documentation, supportive teammates, close relationships, and even the calming presence of plants and wax melts in her office help her remain focused and resilient. “I try not to stay stuck in the hard moment,” she says, “but instead remember who this work is really for and what the challenge is teaching me.”

Looking ahead, what excites her most about DeSoto ISD’s future is possibility“We have students with tremendous potential and people across the district who care deeply,” she shares. “There is real opportunity when the right pieces are working together.” Through integrity, alignment, and a steadfast focus on students, Elizabeth Bostic continues to help strengthen the foundation that supports success across DeSoto ISD.
