DeSoto Independent School District proudly celebrates the outstanding accomplishments of the DeSoto High School Lady Eagles soccer program, recognizing a group of exceptional student-athletes who earned district and academic honors for their performance on the field and excellence in the classroom during the 2025-26 season.

This year’s honorees represent the strength of DeSoto ISD’s commitment to developing well-rounded scholars who excel in academics, athletics, leadership, and character. Their recognition reflects countless hours of dedication, discipline, and teamwork.

“Our Lady Eagles continue to prove that success is built through discipline, sacrifice, and commitment,” Head Coach Billy Johnson said. “I’m proud of how these young women competed every day and even more proud of how they carried themselves in the classroom. These honors reflect the work they have put in and the standard they have set for our program.”

The district also recognizes the remarkable academic achievements of two standout seniors who helped lead the Lady Eagles program while excelling at the highest level academically:Class of 2026, Sophia Villacorta, DeSoto High School valedictorian, andDesiree A. Munguia, salutatorian.

“Being able to succeed academically while competing alongside my teammates has been one of the greatest experiences of my life,” Villacorta said. “Soccer taught me resilience, accountability, and how to push through challenges. I’m honored to represent DeSoto High School and grateful for everyone who supported me along the way.”

Their success underscores the strong connection between academic discipline and athletic achievement while serving as an example for younger student athletes across the district.

A Season of Pride

The Lady Eagles continued to represent DeSoto with determination, resilience and sportsmanship throughout the season. Their accomplishments reflect the support of coaches, teachers, families, and the community who continue investing in student success.
